Martin Haigh started his career in estate agency by joining his father’s family business in the Henleaze district of Bristol in 1980. Over the next eleven years, he gained valuable experience, not only in the local property market, but also the running of an estate agency.

When Lyn, his father, retired in 1991, Martin continued as General Manager for the new owners of the business, but became disillusioned with working for a larger company.

In 1993, an opportunity arose for Martin to strike out on his own as shop premises became available in nearby North View, on the Henleaze/Westbury Park border. With his father once again emerging from retirement, in a consultancy role, Martin established "Haigh & Sons", a little tongue-in-cheek, maybe, as his sons were at that time both under two years old!

A Fellow of the National Association of Estate Agents, Martin remains staunchly independent, and has been keen to network with other independent agents across the country to mutual advantage and to the advantage of his clients, hence his membership of HomeLink and the Guild of Professional Estate Agents. This he believes ensures his clients and customers get "the best of both worlds".

Sadly Lyn passed away unexpectedly in 2002, but Martin has continued to offer the sort of personal service that makes family businesses such a pleasure to deal with. And he hopes to continue doing so until one of his sons, or either of his two daughters, is old enough to take over from him!
